And believe me, now you can create a Virtual DJ app for mobile phones, like a DJay application. You are a well-established company in this regard.

phone apps are kids toys and it's been asked before and i'll say the same thing i've told others:
i wouldn't wish that kind of nightmare on the dev's. they already have enough headaches dealing with keeping the software working with two different operating systems with windows and macOS .

So not to be mean to OP, as I understand the portability/usefullness aspect (and it's the cool thing to do right now), but here's an example of people realizing what kind of problems arise with this - a user reporting a call stopping the app's playback:
https://community.algoriddim.com/t/calls-stop-the-app-playing/38149
I still think the mobile device idea isn't the right solution to the portability problem (other than portability, it keeps all of the same problems of a traditional computer and adds others as seen above)...standalone systems (with better processing power) are.
Not to say the devs shouldn't look into the request (many people have made this request before OP and it could be a useful tool addition to the toolbox), but imo, there are better ways to go about solving the problem.

That poster in the link you provided is talking specifically about calls breaking through do-not-disturb, which may not be an OS level issue, but their complaint is a valid one and not as silly as you're making it out to be.
While obviously phones are not serious DJing devices, there are situations where it's beneficial.
1: Track prep on the go.
- Learning new tracks and how they might work with others.
- Setting hot cues
- Building playlists
- Practice
2: Use of an iPad instead of a laptop
- iPads have M-series processors now and are just about as powerful as Macbooks and they're way more portable.
3: Random fun opportunities:
- You're at a house party and people heard that you're a DJ? Let them hand you the aux cord.
I myself use the free version of Rekordbox on my iOS devices for essentially only this purpose.
Yes it's a herculean task to build a mobile app but there's reasons people want it, and if VDJ wants to remain a serious contender it has to keep up with the times.

Djay Pro cornered the ipad market years ago. Not sure how much actual business there'd be for Atomix vss the cost of developing it from scratch.

If you read and understood what I posted correctly, you'd realize that I'm agreeing that it is a serious problem and that it's an example of things that average users do not think of until the problem presents itself.
I'm not against having an app but as I said, imo, it largely isn't the most efficient way to solve the portable play problem (I also largely don't care about looking cool - that makes no difference to the output and how you get to it), standalone hardware is (imo only on the move prep benefits are unaccounted for, and I agree, that is a good use case for app software, but in that case, that's prep, not playback with a controller, and you don't need the complete feature set fot that, just collection access + modification + sync features and rudimentary playback features).
It's also my opinion, that keeping up with the times should not be a goal (your just following, not innovating then), it's about understanding the problems of current, evaluating their criticalness/benefit and then determining the right tools to solve the problem, because if just "keep up", you very often run the risk of providing tools that no one actually needs/asked for and then have to try to convince people they need it through marketing/promotional videos (look at putting LED screens on Phase Pro remotes and Meta Quest integration for DJay for examples).
In the end, I respect and understand your opinion 🍺.

I actually don't think that's too much of an issue (users would use the App if it becomes available), but current hardware support (mobile device (devices that aren't iPads vary widely in specs and are often not up to par for things like stem operations) as well as controllers (often incomplete support due to no drivers)) + continued maintenance (2 new platforms for "full" software support) + App store costs (e.g. you normally can't just install the app outside of the store on iOS like you can on MacOS) are most likely the big problems here.

I have been wanting and requesting an IPad version of Vdj for years. Djay pro works extremely well, but I'd prefer to use Vdj. I would love to be able to prep on an iPad and transfer it to the laptop. Or do a small show or ceremony with my iPhone or iPad . Oh wait I already can It's just not with Vdj. I also believe that the younger generation looks at laptops as old and outdated. Their lives are all about their phones and handheld gaming systems.

But the truth is it doesn't correct most problems - you still have driver issues, OS upgrade regressions and now new problems - devices are not as powerful so I gotta scale back features, searching is now less efficient as I don't have a keyboard, what do phone calls happening during a set mean? Connectivity issues (your entire collection most likely won't fit on the storage provided so you now need a USB hub for an external drive + controller, unless you only carry what you need or depend on streaming, which is another can of worms).
All of this you inherit just to gain slightly more portability and perhaps look cooler.
There is definitely room for an app, but doing an app because other vendors are doing an app is not the right approach imo. Do the app because of the clear value perceived.

For me personally I would never use my phone for a club gig. 4hours of playing on small screen would be rough. But for wedding djs doing a ceremony it would work well. (Turn the ringer off ) Using an iPad in a club is doable, ( I've done it ) it takes some getting used to not having a physical keyboard. I have 8 different controllers and 6 of them work perfectly with djay I think most modern controllers would work as long as they don't require specific audio drivers I've said this before is the iPad /iphone app the perfect solution , of course not . It's another tool in the arsenal to help us do what we do.

VirtualDJ will run on a Surface Pro since it runs full windows. look around and ask in the VDJ FB group - there's guys doing full events and weddings with them. between that and the VirtualDJ remote app that would pretty much cover the wedding minimalist and running around trying to do everything at once.
