When I open VDJ am not being allowed to choose my controller even though it says it's being recognized. I can only get sound from the mic. Music is going from laptop speakers only.

Did you install manufacturer drivers if available?

Go to your AUDIO Tab, and at the bottom right, Change the audio profile from Laptop speakers only to the controller specific audio profile.
