another alternative query could be ..
so that songpos/seek works when Deck is not audible (play and preview when Fader is down)
is_audible ? nothing : song_pos

Confirming - this works! Thank you both for your help.
For those reading in future, you need to map it against NEEDLE_TOUCH (with the CDJ-2000nexus at least)
