If I edit the comments for a track in another application, how do I get them seen in VDJ? I have tried "Add to Search DB" so it should rescan the tracks, right? And update the comments?

OK, this is a little weird. It worked for some but not all the tracks I commented on in the other application.
 
Select all files you want to update, right-click and select batch->reload tags.
For a single file you can open the tag editor and copy the comment from the tag to vdj database there.
