Had a windows crash so I had to start all over with a new VDJ install. Using home version, the space bar doesn't start the deck. Can't find any settings to fix.

No... this is not only space bar : whole keymap and keyboard engine have silently change
you can still use old behavior by selecting map "Legacy (default)" in settings
or map space to "play_pause" again as it was in old style map

check the mapping window, you select mapping layouts there.
