I am trying to broadcast thru VDJ.
The program shows I'm broadcasting but when I check the website player, it shows me as offline.
I'm just using the broadcast to VDJ page. What's the trick to this?

More information please i.e what website are you trying to broadcasting to etc.

broadcasting from the site page is actually using your machine as the server. AKA Direct Broadcasting [depending on your listenership and connection you could run out of bandwidth]
he's the info, you may need to port forward and make firewall rules.

I'll take a look at the port and firewall option.
DJ Skylite I am referring to the setting up to broadcast only audio. They give you a link to a page from VDJ and your name that folks can tune in. Like locodog mentioned, it's not for big listenership.

The firewall already has VDJ exemption.
I noticed this time that when I click on the broadcast link, it opens my profile and is briefly green as active then switches to the player screen and says offline.
When not broadcasting, it tells me on the profile screen that I'm not currently broadcasting which is correct.
