Topic: Stems Crossfader All-In-One
Hi together,

im just brainstorming. Im thinking about generating a new fader curve for the existing crossfader on my controller.
You know all the DJs, if both decks are running and the DJ is doing the mix and the crossfader is in the middle, he will rotate on both bass knobs with both hands to cut out the bass on the left deck and cut in the bass on the right deck. I want do this with one single crossfader move.
It should be just a regular single crossfader, but im going to give him some multiple stems curves:

Green: crossfader curve for stems vocals and instruments - soft, like a regular crossfader.
Blue: crossfader curve for stems bassdrum - like a hard switchover in the middle.
Both together to move with one single crossfader on a regular DJ controller.

What do you think about it? Do you think this is a nice idea? Maybe such kind of script already exists, i dont know.

What is the y value for the middle point in your curves? A value between 0.0f and 1.0f
 
No values at the moment, its just the first idea. Maybe adjustable.
 
0.707 ? seems like as good a place as any to start.
 
@VDJ MONTY were you able to finish this? Great idea. This could be extremely useful.
 
I feel this is already in the works. It already exist in DJay Pro AI.
 
I am interested in this idea,too. Did Atomix implement a stems crossfader like in Djay Pro yet?
 
Hello,
I am hobby user of virtuald DJ (but I do buy the monthly subscription version whenever I need it for the few "gigs" I have) and wanted to recreate a stems crossfader that allows me to crossfade between stems individually, e.g. crossfading instrumental part between Deck 1 and Deck 2.
There is also another post regarding the same topic (see: https://www.virtualdj.com/forums/250459/Wishes_and_new_features/Stem_Multi_Isolation_Crossfader_Skin.html), but neither in this, nor in the other one a solution has been found, as far as I understood.
So, could someone please help me to achieve this with scripting?

I also tried to check out this post (https://virtualdj.com/forums/259658/VirtualDJ_Technical_Support/How_to_get_a_stem_to_automatically_do_a_smooth_crossfade_between_2_deck_by_a_button_push_.html), but it seems focused on achieving an autmated stems transition button which is not what I am looking for.

The reason why stems eq knobs will not do the same for me is that you need 2 hands to achieve the same result, but I want to use the other hand for other things like applying effects.
