I'm just getting back into VirtualDJ after some time away. I have a proper license, I've downloaded the latest software to my new laptop and I've connected my Hercules Mk4 console. However, there is now a loud buzzing in my speakers (please note, laptop is running on battery, not plugged in) and the sound quality going through to the speakers is weak and tinny.
Set-up is: Output 1-2 cables to my amplifier; USB from console to USB in my laptop; headphones als connected.
I also initially connected from the Input 1-2 cables into my laptop's headphone socket (which is what I used to do with my old laptop). But this makes no difference at all - the sound is presumably being sent directly the USB connection (could this be the issue?).
Amp/speakers are working fine with other hardware, e.g. my CD player. The software and Hercules console also appear to be working fine.
Am I missing something obvious here, e.g. something with my set-up? Many thanks for your help.
