话题: DJ Controller Loss of Sound

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi All,

Apologies if I have put this post in the wrong place and also sorry that it isn't directly connected to VDJ but I wonder if it does hold the answer.

I am running a Reloop Beatmix 2 Controller (which I love) into VDJ 7 and it has been working fine for me for around 5 years now. I have been playing at alot more festivals lately and also going B2B with other DJ's. I have running my controller via RCA (red/white cables) into the 4th channel on the DJ Mixer (usually a Pioneer 900).

The issue im having is that my VDJ Master seems to be on Full, the Gain turned up 3/4 full on the mixers channel but the sound difference between my output and the output form the CDJ's plugged into the other channels on the mixer is massive - it almost sounds like I am running at about 60% of them in amount of sound.

Does anyone have any tips or is this just a case of facing facts that running the sound from laptop, VDJ, into controller, then into mixer, I am just losing too much?

Thanks in advance.

That's the difference between low end "domestic" equipment and pro level equipment.

You're comparing your Beatmix with a product that costs ten times more!

It's likely that the output from the RCAs on your Beatmix is "consumer level", which is -10dBV (0.3V).

On the other hand, the CDJs apparently can output 2V RMS, which is over 6dBV.

I'm thinking of buying a couple of Mackie HM-4 headphone amps. Wouldn't this help a DJ Controller output get loud enough with a cable/adapter going from RCA to 1/4" before going back to RCA/line or a regular mixer into the Pioneer Mixer? The other headphone amp could be used for your headphones. Perhaps there's better equipment for this, but the price isn't bad at around $39.99.

Please don't hijack other people's threads.

Using a headphone amp would be a bodge. You might have problems with impedance mismatch, and it would probably be way too loud.

There is kit designed for the job e.g. http://www.aphex.com/products/124b
