Hi, can you tell me if during the transition between one song and the other one, the pitch reset button should be pushed after the transition is completed or when it is still happening? Is there any recommended pitch reset speed? The dafault is 1 on my software. Last question: do you think is possible to mix songs with different bmp like 130 and 145? Thanks a lot!

There are no hard and fast rules - what works for two songs might not work for others. Or what works for one genre doesn’t work for another.

There are many YouTube videos which explain how to mix and you need to practice, practice and practice to train your own ears as to what sounds good. Try it out. Record your mixes and listen to them - they obviously will sound very different over your speakers than what you heard over headphones as you were mixing.

Listen to other DJ’s as they play - you will like some of what you hear and some you may not.

Good luck

It always comes down to what sounds good..however I'd use saved loops and a custom button (pitch_lock) to lock pitches. So.. two loops each which have been selected as a phrase / seamless loop and in sync. I'd crossfade a little past halfway and activate the pitch reset button. Then simply finish the crossfade and exit the loop. You can seek improvements using effects and the tone controls.

So you could go from say 90bpm to 130bpm easily!
Also you can vary the pitch reset speed to suit using a simple script.
Oh..and don't forget to use keylock.

As a domestic user, I have no experience playing live and now I am getting used to activating / deactivating smart_play for certain songs that I want to introduce with other quite different bpm, everything depends on the songs, the beginning and the end of them. mainly. For example, one ends with a piano and no bass, can enter with another theme and different bpm with a blow to another rhythm and not be noticed in practice, but many final touches and a start that does not fit well. They would kick you out of the cabin! xDDD

To begin, it is good to become familiar with the program and its functions, but we are low and prefer to download all kinds of patches, accessories, etc.

The pitch_reset is a simple function, normally a speed is set to gradually change

If you click on simple, perform the automatic reset, if you press it again it stops the reset and with a double click it is reset at the moment.

the pitch_reset I use it more than anything when the songs are from a similar bpm and activating the beatlock on the opposite deck

if you only use 2 deck ... you could use a script like this:
action_deck 1 ? deck 1 beatlock off & deck 2 beatlock on & deck 1 pitch_reset 0.3% : deck 2 beatlock off & deck 1 beatlock on & deck 2 pitch_reset 0.3%

You don't have use just one method of transitioning. The method I outlined was for DJ friendly tracks with a suitable intro /outro or mix points.
You can even get remixes of songs which change pitch typically from around 90bpm to 130bpm or vica versa.
