Topic: Video freezes when searching for tracks

I do a fair amount of video mixing and whenever I search for a track or scroll quickly down my library my video output and my laptop screen freezes. The audio continues and then a few seconds later I get the video back. I am running an HP with and Intel I7 core @ 2.7 ghz. with 8 gigs of ram. I shut off my wi-fi and run the PC optimizer. Any ideas what is causing this? Anyone having a similar experience? Thanks in advance.

What fields are displayed in the browser
 
Title, Artist, BPM, Album, Length, and file date
 
File date is what's killing it. Your computer has to access every file to read the date when this column is enabled, which obviously slows things down.
