I have a pair of the classic Denon 5500's. I'm a real novice in mapping, and it's even more of a challenge with the 5500's. Hoping someone can help;
I would like to use only deck/layer 1. I would like to change the deck 1/2 layer button command to: 'goto_cue 1 & play' (only for layer 1) . Currently no matter what command string I use it always switches to deck/layer 2, loads the same song that is loaded on deck 1, then plays deck 2.
The current default command for the layer button is: 'motorwheel & select'. Along with a few other strings, I have tried 'deck 1 motorwheel & goto_cue 1 & play ' with no luck.
Is there a way to have the layer button dedicate itself to deck 1 and not toggle between layers?

Hey Clay, sorry I can't help you out with the script but are you using these in midi mode??
I've tried a million times and can't ever get mine to sound right, if you have them working in midi mode please PM me and tell me how.

The LAYER button is a hardware button and will always toggle between the 2 Hardware layers of the unit It sends MIDI as well, so that the software knows that the layer is changed (useful in some cases).
So, you cant really use this button to assign anything useful for the current layer/deck.
