话题: Remote from one Windows Laptop to another Windows Laptop

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I have my main Toshiba laptop connected to my digital mixer (I do live sound mixing for bands and events), and has VDJ installed and working good.

I also have my Android phone working properly to control VDJ remotely (very easy setup - 5 Stars!!)

I also have a small notebook (ASUS Transformer Book T100TA) running Windows 8.1, and I would like to remotely control VDJ on my main laptop from this notebook.

I have researched and searched the forum (also using Google to drill my searches in the forum ( site:virtualdj.com/forums/ [search terms] ),

Besides some of the usual responses (VPN, Remote Desktop aka RDP, Teamviewer, etc) none of which are suitable.......

HOW CAN I MAKE THIS WORK?? THX :)

There is no official way to achive this as far as I know.

But you can try this:

Download an Android Emulator to your ASUS notebook. Downlaod and install the VDJ Remote app on the emulator.
Try to controll VDJ of your main laptop through emulator and VDJ remote.

What do you mean not suitable?

Whatever the name or flavour they all work on the same principle of RDP and that's the easiest way to monitor Windows from Windows.

RDP sometimes has latency issues, and can be a PITA to setup.......

3rd Party Apps = Teamviewer: needs internet access to Teamviewer's servers | same with LogMeIn | same with GoToMyPC

AND, you'll have to deal with screen size issues. I've used ALL of these 3rd party apps, and RDP before....

VPN - I am not a system admin, so I'm not versed in that protocol.

Chrome remote desktop works well. RDP works well. Teamviewer and Splashtop work well.

Not sure what your issues are and why you don't want to go through someone's servers.

If you don't have internet access then Windows inbuilt RDP is fine and the version of Splashtop I use has an offline mode too.

I'll take a look at Splashtop as well. Thx for the head's up.

In most venues I work at, there is no outside internet acccess, or I don't have access, nor would I want to access their WAP.

I keep my system securely locked down with MAC Address filtering, and non-visible SSID broadcasting.

I use TightVNC
It's easy to setup and free.
The only requirment is the two PC's to be on the same network
Then you can type the IP of the other computer in order to connect.

Also VNC does not need to resize the host (server) desktop
It resizes the view on the remote machine and you have an option to skip resizing and see the screen 1 to 1

On fast connection (wired or wireless without much traffic) latency is almost not existent
