I'm still very novice, but does this interest anyone?

Just a little something I've been working on for myself. I might consider making someone a site for free if you're cool enough ;)

I honestly have no idea. I might suck really bad at it. How does it look for a business website?

I hope this does not sound like a put down..but there are many ways to create a website.
The trick is to get a good search engine position.
That's very hard.
Any tips would be welcome!

Yep, I know there are many ways. I've been told before that I am reinventing the wheel in some ways. I just do it for fun :)

I don't know much about search engine positions, but I must've been doing something right, because if you search "TechEdison" on Google I am the first two to show up! I have no idea how that happened.

Put yourself in the shoes of someone looking for a mobile karaoke disco, in say London.
What would they type into a search engine?
It's unlikely to be TechEdison.
So, if you do karaoke in London, and appear first in the Google search engine when these words are typed your doing very well.
You will get work even if your website is not very good.

The greatest artistic website in the world is no good if no one can find it.
All websites should be coded with respect to search engine position for critical key words.
The competition for popular key word dominance is enormous.
If you succeed you will be of great value.

In the UK my powerful enemy is the online Yellow Pages (Yell.com).
They seek to control most of the work, along with other similar large organizations.
They expect us to pay to be included in their websites/directories.

If you put the site name into any engine no matter what it is called then obviously you are going to get that exact site name at the top of the pile, the magic is in the key words you use. So sorry, it's back to the drawing board for you...

Interesting. I will definitely be doing some research on the subject of search engines, but to be 100% honest, I am a web designer/developer, not an SEO ;)

You cannot be a successful website designer without incorporating SEO strategy into the code/website.
One of my websites rates as Google number 1 for my important keywords " disco, karaoke, and hm..large area!", it would be useful for you to look at the code which has enabled a good position.
I will send you a link.
Note that I do not believe I have the skills to fight off the large organizations for much longer.

Links from highly rated sites like this one will help search engine position.
However, even if Atomix wanted to help they would receive so many that it would be like spam.

IF ALL THE DJ'S WITH WEBSITES WORKED TOGETHER PROVIDING LINKS TO ONE ANOTHER WE MIGHT DO WELL!
We need one way links..not the you link to me, and I'll link to you type.
This would be a daisy chain type structure.
