tried ER and public, I'll try further back
went back to 3291 and it still isn't working, are the years of partying final showing the resultant brain damage or is there something wrong?

not a controller, that's the odd thing, default skin custom buttons.

Skin is not considered a "device"
device_side (and probably action_deck) is meant to work with controllers.
BTW, the device_side 'left|right' may not work on some 4 decks controllers, if the decks swap in a Hardware mode, so deck 3 may be controlled by the unit, but deck still be Left. In that case, we are using the action_deck x
