Good day,

I am looking to purchase a new controller that I can learn to scratch and would last me quite sometime. I don't want a beginner controller, but one that can be used by a beginner and then be used when I get more advanced.

What would the experts on this site recommend? I currently own the Pioneer SB2 but need something better.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

B

don't blame your equipment when it comes to scratching the sb2 is good enough to learn on if set up properly.

spending a bunch of money on equipment will not make it easier :-)

He already mentioned that he doesn't want an entry level controller.

that is true but why mislead people into thinking some $2000 piece of hardware will make things suddenly easier, it will not.

Didn't think it was misleading, simply answered his question... And learning to scratch on a spinnin platter is alot easier then on static platters, at least in my opinion.

The SB can be scratched on, just watch DJ TLM's video of his SB review. So you are correct there and you never know things might click when he uses something with bigger jog wheel which I suspect is his problem.

I own a Numark NS7 III which combines the best features of turntables and controllers. It is a premium controller with actual spinning platters. I have a longer review coming on this unit but I'm sure if you go online you will find out lots of great information.

I also owned Denon SC3900's which are CDJ's with spinning platters and actual vinyl. These are also great but cost more than actual turntables.
