on my W10, i delete samples that i dislike then them samples don't work.
i did same on my Maccas, and samples still work after deleting ones i dislikes

Best is to CTRL+Click on the Samples you want to remove inside the Sampler Banks (in Sideview) and chose Remove.
If you are using the File Operations->Delete, then the Samples will still be present in the Sampler Bank and if loaded, will still work. Changing Sampler Bank back n forth will of course "delete" the sample from the Sampler bank as well.
Also keep in mind that deleting files (in general) using the File Operations, requires "write" permissions on that folder, so make sure you check the permissions of that (Sampler) folder or whatever folder you use to store your samples.

iv done ctrl click and right click, still samples dont work after deleting 1 from a sample
