With all this technology this is the garbage companies come up with, an OEM Z2, and for a $999. I just dont get the short thought process.

There are two ways of looking at this.
Its not like they are excluding VDJ, they're making it SDJ compliant.
Its an open device for other softwares to map complete with drivers, "If you are not using Serato, the DUO’s on-board soundcard includes an ASIO driver for Windows and is class-compliant on MAC, so it can be used with an audio program. In addition, all top panel controls send MIDI so they can be mapped to any MIDI capable software."

So is the z2 includes Traktor also..This is a Z2 rebranded for serato.

I can't see how this is an "OEM Z2" - it's laid out differently, with a different amount of knobs and buttons.
Yes it's similar, but then it's a DJ mixer. How different can one DJ mixer be from another? Same with controllers - jog wheels, transport buttons, mixer section, pads....
Recently, Elliot from Innofader was ranting about how this very mixer was a copy of the DJ Tech DIF-1M - but again, they're not actually the same. Similar, but not the same.
You know, just like cars have wheels, doors, seats and an engine.......but they're not identical to each other. :-)

I see why the companies are doing this, now i understand. I would do the same thing, but my mind is a littl more innovative maybe its the DJ in me....
