I currently use two Yamaha A15 Passive speakers attached to a Peavey 6500 mixer. I am looking to upgrade system for better performance and sound. I have been looking at the Electro-Voice ZLX-15 2-Way Passive Loudspeakers and the Electro-Voice ZLX-15P Powered speakers. Can anyone give feedback on best route to take in order to improve sound? Maybe ideas on other speakers? Thanks.

A Man and His Music
If you are a musician, or just running a small PA system, that mixer still has some use. Putting better speakers on that mixer, is a waste of time, in my opinion. Do yourself a favor, if you like EV, go with the powered speakers, and put a smile on your face. Did you notice that they are 50 pounds? Something to think about, because you can actually get more power, with less weight (RCF ART 712 or ART 715). Of course they cost a little more. Good luck.
