Unfortunately, when the patient tells the doctor whats wrong and the doctor ignores the symptoms even in private consultations, what does the patient do then?

Does the patient then think I need to find a different doctor because this one doesn't understand or empathize with what the patient is actually asking for, or is it a situation where the doctor understands the problem but can't offer a cure because the root of the problem is incapable of being cured.

Oh not that old chestnut again! Are you seriously saying that NOT ONE of the many hundreds of skins available for VDJ is up to your standards? Even the ones that emulate competing DJ software (as that seems to be where you're coming from)?

most of them aren't that useful

....but you still haven't said WHY. You need to explain exactly what the issue is with "most" VSTs and with the Virtual DJ effects that's causing so much of a dilemma for you. How many VSTs have you actually tried? Were they free ones?

IMO it seems to be a vocal minority that complains, but doesn't say WHY. Surely if the VDJ effects plus "most|" VSTs were so dreadful, then there would be thousands of DJs on here up in arms about it?

Actually I am largely very pleased with the software. It's come a long way since the beginning, V8 was a big step in the right direction, but of course in the software business you can never say something is perfect or finalized, updates are what keep programs alive and competitive. The people that offer criticism and point to the shortcomings may hurt the ego in the short term, but over the longer term they're providing valuable insight that any company will quietly appreciate. Sure you'd like constructive criticism, I've offered plenty of that in the last 13 years along with proposed solutions. There's only so many times you can repeat yourself before you consider it better to write your thoughts in summary.

Just up until recently the professional line DJs on this board were mainly concerned with the sound engine, V8 addressed these issues and brought the engine into 2016. The program is now very stable in my experience, so there is now a strong foundation on which to build going forwards.

Each user and developer will have different ideas and priorities on the way forwards from here. My view is that serious audio/visual plugin development should form a large part of the development. In my view it's one of the few areas where VDJ is behind its main competitors.

A/V FX appeal to a wide section of the user base; especially bedroom and club/performance orientated DJs. I think when a new user downloads the demo, the first thing they want to do is load a song and see how they can manipulate it with FX and samples, and ten years later into my career it's this manipulation that I find so enjoyable as a DJ, and like many pros who invest in their set-up; I want to continue to push the limits of what's possible.

FX are proven to sell software, because they're very easy to demonstrate in videos and DJs are quickly impressed by them , a customer can see or hear something unique that they didn't think was possible (due to the restrictions of what they currently own/use) and think "I want to do that, I want those FX at my finger tips" - it's a tangible difference that will affect ones performance. If this were not true mix emergency or even adobe would be out of business.

And have you noticed that not one single voice from Atomix has tried to argue that the opposite is true? I believe they agree with us, but they have their development priorities which will not always been aligned with the users.

Without saying too much at all, I will say there are improvements coming to the effect side of things for both audio and video. Your concerns are noted and we have been working in the background on addressing features that users have been asking for :)

Just my 2 cent-- However remember an improvement a day too late will make a huge difference in bragging rights for software of choice.

It's 2016 and people still care what others use?

PC vs Mac
Controller vs CDJ vs TT
VDJ vs Serato vs NI

If people are really that butthurt over what another DJ is using, then they are in this industry for all the wrong reasons. It's a shame that people still in todays society have to be petty and look down on what another working DJ uses to rock a crowd.

Thanks for the sign of life and reassurance Scott :).

Totally agree. I tried all the other software brands including the new Pioneer RB, but VDJ has given (and still gives) me the most options I prefer (Music, Video, Karaoke, Automix, plugins, GUI's), the most flexible GUI's (I use 2 decks, 4 decks and even 6 decks) and the best hardware support if you ask me..

Example: I bought the brand new (unsupported) Pioneer XDJ-700. The day it arrived I got help from VDJ to make it work with "best effort" support. The day after my purchase I was playing with my XDJ-700 with 90% functional level.
Within a week my player was supported!

I use a DDJ-SZ and sometimes the XDJ-700 players, but sometimes I have to plugin hardware of the venue itself. Last time I was in Amsterdam and had to use the CDJ2000NXS and DJM900NXS hardware that was installed in the DJ booth...
I plugged in the usb cables and after 5 minutes of setting correct sound config in VDJ... I was rocking the house!! Wonderfull that I can rely on software like this!

I'm also using more than one skin. Just using the skin that matches my party preferences and matches my used hardware the best.

I don;t experience "poor effects" or something like that, because my hardware has the effects built-in and that does the trick for me.

I didn't miss anything and haven't missed anything since I use VDJ. 99% of my gig's I don;t have internet so all the streaming options don;t work for me.

The only wish I have at the moment is split browser for more than one media player (say 2 XDJ-700;s). This is the first wish ever I can think of..

Well comparison is only valid when comparing to actual competition, Rekord Box is a fledgling at this point but could be the choice of many in the future taking out VDJ as well as SDJ.

Nobody is saying you can't be satisfied with the bundled effects.
As I said, external sound effect processors offer much more without involving or affecting the software.

Video effects are another whole thing, and if you or anybody wants to see the difference, here are hours worth of examples to check out.
Not giving a hard sell, but comparison is only valid if you actually compare and not stand by your man cause your "satisfied".
Bren, you know all of these guys, they're the best of the best video dj's, and I'm not convinced they all made the mistake of their lives choosing Mix Emergency.
