Topic: DJ - new unit

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hello,
I received my new unit Hercules universal DJ. By the way very raw and just want to do this as my hobby and learn how to DJ to a certain extent.
I wanted to ask few questions, if someone can answer me.

1. Can I connect to big speakers - it has RCA outlets. How many speakers can I connect - just 2 or can I connect more than 2.
2. It also has outlet for mix, what can I do with this outlet - any suggestion.
3. If i have to connect to big speakers ofcourse it will have some distance from the unit so what wires/connectors would I require.

Any more suggestion on the above would be nice since I have very little knowledge.

Regards.

You'll have to be a little detail. Like brand and model of the Hercules controller and speaker. Otherwise you maybe get information you don't need at the time. check out the picture for basic setup for any controllers.

Appreciate the information it is useful and got the idea it has only one audio output on the controller. I will try to get a pic of the model if possible.
I was looking at Mackie speakers, what is your opinion

You may suggest if you have another speaker in mind.

can someone suggest

If you are choosing certain speakers with a THRU Socket of course you can connect more than one pair. Please keep in mind that a essential Q is also if you are using active or passive speakers for on passive speakers you need a power amp.

IUse it to record your mix with a external device or use it as a booth monitor
3. If i have to connect to big speakers ofcourse it will have some distance from the unit so what wires/connectors would I require.
There are tons of different cables avaliable. For any suggestions i would recommend to get in touch with a store perhaps

I personal like the QSC K12 but would have to do the reason on what your looking for. Click on the link for a comparison between the QSC K12 and Mackie Thump12.

Thanks for the information about the sweet water comparison very helpful.

Hi All,

I'm just curious to know if I purchase the speaker tripod seperately can i use for any speakers makes or will i have trouble.
Example : if I have mackie 15 and buy the stands seperately will i be able to use the stand or will it be a problem?
in other words every speaker will have its own designated stands?

some can provide expert advise will be highly appreciated.

Most speaker stands have a universal mounting and are interchangeable.

Thank you for the reply about speaker stands

When you say this will be your hobby, are you planning to go out on the road with a PA system and play at venues for people who've booked you?

If you're only going to be using the system at home, then PA speakers are not the best choice. You should be looking at powered monitor speakers such as the KRK Rokit series.
