Topic: VDJ and Windows auto update or naw?

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

During the days of VDJ 4, 5 and 6 many, many years ago running Windows XP and Vista, it seems a lot of people were saying once you got your computer stabilized with VDJ, turn off your windows update. Because the future updates could cause conflicts with VDJ. Just got a new Windows 10 computer and running VDJ 8.1 and wonder if that is still an issue. I'd be interested to know what the consensus is these days.

There are several threads related to Win 10, please take a minute to look around. Take a look at this one.

The question to ask yourself is - how vital is your gig computer?

If you want absolute reliability then stick with the tried and tested. Once you have it working, that's it. It works. Don't mess with it.

OTOH as long as you thoroughly test the system after an update (and before any gigs) then keeping the OS up to date shouldn't be an issue either.

Essentially it's up to you. Is it really that vital (for the role the computer has) to update the OS all the time? If you update, do you have enough time to test the computer and make sure nothing has been affected?
