Hi there, long story short, I had a corrupt version of Windows 10 from Microsoft and it froze my whole PC up. An IT friend reinstalled Windows, fresh, essentially wiping my PC clean in the process...
I got it back today, reinstalled VDJ, signed in, no problem, plugged in my backup drive which holds my CU cache and none of the songs are able to be played, message tells me the title is not available, to check the file name and try again. I'm at a loss now, nothing seems to be working to retrieve the material although all the titles show up. I've tried "relocate missing file" as well to no result. Suggestions?

Just to make sure, did you sign in within Virtual DJ?
Also, did you verify the files are on the drive and not shortcuts to the original files?
Third, is the drive letter the same as it was before?
Have you tried copying the files back into VDJ's cache folder?

Yeah, it's all the same as before. I scanned the cache file on the external drive in VDJ and got back about 25%of the material. But the rest have a red X through them still

There has to be something wrong with the paths.

Yeah, I've heard that from a few other users too. Is there a way to unify and "correct" the paths? It's not a matter of plugging in to a different usb port; is it a matter of redownloading the entire CU cache? I hope not!

So, trying to straighten things out, I've discovered another problem now... I'm using a Mixtrack Edge as my controller (never a single problem before the reformat) now, four songs or so into a mix, VDJ freezes and defaults to the keyboard as the controller. I then have to shut VDJ down and start over again. I'm logged in ok, my controller shows up as an 'alternate' controller, but it freezes mid-mix and doesn't seem to stay active as the controller.
Since this device is class compliant, there are no drivers to download for it, is there something I've missed in setting up VDJ from a fresh install? It seems to be getting less and less stable over the past two days and I have a mixing session coming up this weekend, feeling a little apprehensive...

Is this timing out at the same interval, I mean is it every 20 minutes, or are the times random? When this happens can you check to see if the usb port is still active in device manager? You have tried a different usb cable?

If you have a fresh OS install , check that usb power saving is not turned on (default is on in w10), In fact turn off power saving on HDD, and the Network card too
