..how do I stop the Key from been overwritten by VDJ 8. So the Tag Key remains the mixed in key tag??

btw same question was asked and answered in another forum, where you do not want VDJ to change the tag.

Mixed in key 7 after analyzing files and open in VDJ 8 no cue points is shown in the song in VDJ 8.

Although 8 cue points shows up MIK display viewer.

Any idea anyone? I check the appropriate box.

"export cues for existing files" has been clicked .. still no cue point..

You've not chosen the application by ticking the box. You need to select Serato (VDJ doesn't read Traktor cues AFAIK).

Right on, thanks.

Why would you trust a program to set your cue points!?!? Cue points are personal and everybody see theres just a little bit different I'm sure.

The MIK cue points do seem pretty random.

I guess it's a starting point though, if you've got a bunch of new tracks with no cues set. Once they're in VDJ you can adjust as necessary.

Nobody is suggesting nor advocating such.

Agree.

I found this chart on keyfinders site:

I can't read anything on this image.
Why don't you just post the link to the chart instead of making a screenshot and embed the image?

Thank you!

If you want an accurate key detection using vdj8 you must use the correct mode to suite your music. One mode is for electronic dance type music with a regular beat, the other is for a broad range of music types. It is unlikely those who tested vdj8 had any idea how it works.

I've just downloaded the VDJ8 manual, the idea being to get the latest version, however there appears to be no mention of the option to set the key detection mode.
Every time this option is mentioned it results in silence?

THE OPTION DOES EXIST.

Note: It was first mentioned around 18 months ago by DJDAD.

It's a joke to make it so complex, when it's possible to get 80% + accuracy with one algorithm/mode.

If experienced users and review site editors miss it then so will everyone new to the software, meaning we'll all be getting mediocre results.

I'm tempted to believe that the view of the teamers is that "If anyone cares enough they'll buy MIK"...

I'll repeat an earlier comment I made in this thread..

Any comments about the free Keyfinder?

If you want you can optimize Keyfinder for an unlimited number of music types.
Investing effort in this software would likely produce superior results to those of MIK.

Keyfinder is free and its good, been using it for years now........
