Topic: Recommendations for a laptop with powerful video processing?

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I need a laptop with decent video processing capabilities. Ideally it will have the ability to output to two external monitors along with the LCD, all of which must be at full HD (1080p).

I currently run a Lenovo X220 (only 2 ext monitors) and only 1366x768...time for an upgrade!
I also use additional software to overlay graphics, tickertapes, text messages etc and with the video output on only 2 monitors there is a little horizontal 'skipping' especially on fast moving/changing video. The smoothness of graphics is the most important issue, storage and ram are less of a problem. I will be using a 4tb ext hdd and probably 8gb ram on win7pro64. I will not consider a mac.

My budget is around $1500 (£1000UK) although I could stretch it a bit ;-)

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Beatbreaker goes for Asus, and also searching for SBDJ's Asus laptop would be worthwhile. We were all impressed when he mentioned what he was using about a month ago. He is one of the main VDJ hardware ground breakers. He tries things before almost everybody. I suspect that is a big part of his job.
I think that Asus was about £1000.

Note: I'm thinking of a newish laptop to satisfy Traktors bloated requirements. My budget might be a little over £150.
I would spend more if I needed high performance video capabilities.
My middle name might be Frugal...but I make things work !

SBDJ Laptop = ASUS G750

If I remember right the optical drive was removed, and a SSD hard drive inserted.
Presumably that is where his operating system is located.
Anyway wherever the SSD is located, then also is his operating system.

This looks good.

I'd take out the optical drive replacing it with a conventional 1Tb HDD to use as a data partition for my songs, and stuff.

I'm using an Asus 751, which you can see here. They have a new G752, and a water cooled laptop GX700, which you can see here.

Great suggestions, thanks for the input! I will investigate further. I have been looking at thinkpads T450s and W541s because they are bulletproof (and it's all I know) but Lenovo just ain't IBM. I can't justify the spec/price ratio any more..

Decided on the Asus G751 JL (ROG) with 12gb and Nvidia 965M... <£1000!! :-)
