I have two PC's which run VDJ8 (one main and one backup). The EULA says I can have two installations running at the same time. So far so good.
But, what makes these two PC's ask for login? If I have run VDJ8 on a third PC?
I wonder because I never have internet connection on my mobile gigs and I want to make sure the login screen does not appear ten minutes ahead of a gig...

Yes, that's how it should work, but the bottom line IMO is: You can't be sure
There are horror stories every month about DJs not being able to use VDJ8 at a gig because of this
The only option IMO is to have VDJ7 installed as a backup

There have been a few issues at release, but I haven't seen these 'horror stories' you talk about recently.
Simply put, VDJ will only ask for your login if you are online (and therefore can login) or when you didn't log in before when it asked you to.
So as long as you always log in when it asks you to, it will not ask it if there's no internet connection.
As to why it logs you out in the first place, that would indeed happen if you login from a third virtualdj installation.
