Topic: New Music format here and now.

So native instruments have developed a new Music format called Stems which splits the tracks into four Stems software splits a track into four separate musical elements: drums, bass line, melody and vocals. Will this be the way forward and will it be a new competitor to VDJ etc.

Chris probably saw this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-33939203

It's not very well worded TBH. It's not a new format, just a way of packaging something which already existed.

Also, the software doesn't "split tracks". It just allows already separated elements to be bundled together. The BBC make it seem like you can import your favourite track and split it into individual parts.

Yeah, saw that earlier.

Quality well researched article from the BBC as usual :)

The remix decks are the outstanding feature of Traktor.
Stems compliment these decks.
It's good.

It's just as well VDJ 8 is ahead in so many other areas, and its improved sampler is fighting back.

Thanks guys. I obviously missed the posting on Stems.
