Topic: VDJ 8, Abelton and Denon MC6000

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I'm messing around with both VDJ 8, and Abelton running at the same time on my laptop. The output of VDJ 8 is going into the Dennon via usb, whilst Abelton is going in from the laptop soundcard via Dennon input 1.
Hence you can mix VDJ 8 with Abelton.
Anyone else getting similar ideas?

Hm..the Abelton bridge to Serato...but we have to use our ears to beatmix. Well that should please some people.

LOL it's fun mixing between VDJ 8 and Abelton Live 9!
Abelton messes about with VDJ, so I need to start VDJ first..then it works!

I'm only using two channels for VDJ via usb, one for my laptop soundcard, and one for my linux desktop. It's all good fun!

Note: VDJ was always frugal using a computers resources. Traktor is a bloated resource hog.
..and an F1 controlling the samples LOL

Move over Guetta. you're so yesterday!
LOL
Take no notice, I'm just a lunatic.
LOL

I believe you can rewire ableton into VDJ.

Tell me more..I don't understand?
Rewire????
I'd better let Guetta back on stage while I think about this...

I've not tested V8 but with V7 you could send ableton as a rewire slave into VDJ, meaning sync, beat aware effects and other stuff.

Search the manual for rewire,

I can see a DDJ SZ popping up on a major stage with Abelton, VDJ 8, a keyboard, a microphone, and a couple of Nexus 2000's.
That would be something!

That entity might be the worlds best DJ.

Locodog, it's page 102 in the VDJ 8 manual.
We might have the bridge, move over Guetta, and Serrato.
Their so backward!
LOL

An extract from the VDJ 8 manual:

ReWire
From Propellerheads, the inventor of ReWire:
“ReWire is a system for transferring audio data from one application to another, in real time.
Basically, you could view ReWire as an "invisible audio cable" that connects two computer
programs.”
VirtualDJ always behave as the ReWire Master and must be launched prior the ReWire
slave application. Prior closing VirtualDJ, the ReWire slave application must be closed.
Popular ReWire applications include Ableton Live (can work as slave or master), and
Propellerheads Reason (slave only).
Setting up ReWire
In VirtualDJ, ReWire is integrated to the advanced audio setup and it is just another input
that can be routed to a VirtualDJ deck. Prior enabling, a line-in must be added first in the
Audio Setup. This line input must be assigned to a ReWire slave application and then to a
ReWire channel. The ReWire slave application can be selected in the soundcards drop
down menu. A list of virtual ReWire channels will appear for this application the same way as
the physical soundcard inputs do
Once the Audio Setup is done, activating the AUX button on the GUI for the ReWired deck
will route the audio from the slave application to the VirtualDJ mixer. The audio from the
slave application is also routed to a VirtualDJ deck and can be mixed in real time with the
other VirtualDJ decks. Also the Rewired deck will display the Beatgrid and the tempo (BPM)
of the audio that comes from the ReWire slave application in real time.
More advanced setups with more than one ReWired decks and more than one ReWire slave
applications is also possible. In the following picture Ableton Live is routed to Line 3 (deck 3)
and Reason is routed to line 4 (deck 4)

My bet is that it works..I'll let you know in due course. I've got to go out now.

I've got problems, I believe VDJ 8 is 32bit, however I installed a 64bit version of Abelton. The two must be the same.
I'm downloading Abelton 32bit now.

Checking your DAW's bit architecture
ReWire will only work if both DAWs run with the same bit depth.
On Windows, you will need to install the correct version of the other ReWire software depending on whether you use Live 32-bit or 64-bit.

It annoyed me that I had to downgrade Abelton, anyway on with pushing Guetta off the stage in my dreams, all the correct options showed up for Rewire in Abelton. Game on!

The software is called Live. The company that makes it is called Ableton.

To hold my trousers up, i put abelton. :-)
