hi i have a mixdeck express and all the features dont work with vdj7 or 8 ie the cross fade do not work or the gain top mid bass and a few other functoins i have checked on vdj 8 that its the right controller and it is set right but to no joy and help would be appreciated many thanks

I guess you didn't read page 3 of the Mixdeck Express manual, where it says "Note: The mixer controls do not have any MIDI function."
The on-screen "pretend" software mixer is not required when you have a real one in front of you!
