Topic: Unable to connect to club's mixer

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hello all,

I have vdj pro, denon mc6000 with windows 7. I can't hear sound when i connect my controller to the club's mixer (Rane) via RCA jacks (master unbalanced on the controller). I do see the LED lights on the Rane mixer going up and down but the sound is a low level noise. Is there a special configuration or driver that i need? Please help. I have to play next weekend at that club.

Hi,
Just last Friday I had the same problem, the club I was playing had a Rane mixer, I plug my controller to rca input 3, but the sound was distorted, even though I selected "CD" in the cd/phono switch.

I tried then RCA input 1 (which was being used by the clubs cd players), and it worded fine. I didn't have the time to figure out why it didn't work on input 3,. Next time I'll play around a bit more with that mixer.

So it's not a compatibility issue with Rane mixer and VdJ software? I'm not sure... i never connected to a club's mixer before. What configuration must I have set in VDJ? I had:
Outputs: External mixer
Sound card: ASIO driver

also:
Outputs: Headphones
Sound card: ASIO driver
Then I connected the rca out from my controller to the Rane rca jack.

Hi,
It's definitely not VDJ related. The software has nothing to do with it.

If you want to use the controller at the club, but need to route the sound from your controller to the club's mixer, just connect a RCA cable from your controllers master out to one of the club mixer input channels. Just check that the input switch in the mixer is set to line or CD and not ph or phono.

In this setup, you are just routing your master output to the club's mixer, so, just use the same sound configuration you use at home.

Good Luck.

Thanks a lot, bro. I appreciate the responses. :)

No problem :-)

If you had signal level showing, it sound like you needed to bring the channel fader up and the master out up on the Rane. Also, make sure you gain/trim is set right on the Rane for that channel. Your loudest parts should be at 0db, no red lights. Keep it in the green on the channel and the master.
