Topic: v7 4.1 doesn't save settings anymore

My search and browser fields settings don't save anymore, as soon as I shut down VDJ and restart I have to re-set them again... pc win 7pro

Anybody having this problem?
Where do I look to resolve this issue since I installed v8 in my system, been asking for more then a month now?
 
Version 7 saves its settings to the Registry while version 8 saves in the settings.xml, so in theory, both version could save their settings individually without any issue.
The only thing that comes in mind is the permissions of your account. There is a chance for some reason, that the registries cannot be accessed ?
 
How to go about finding this out, what should I try first?
 
pretty sure administrator is the only type of account that can freely write to registry

check the user manager in control panel to see what type your account is


look below the user name u will see administrator on mine.
