Just added 4 albums. They read fine in version 7 but do not show up in version 8.
I needed to do a batch add to database for them to be found.
I do not think this is the way it is supposed to be.

That's no different from v7.
You either need to Add to Database, or browse the new albums in the browser in order for vdj to know about the new files.
 
Thats the point. In7 it is added, when you go to 8 it is not there.
 
If you added them using 7 then they won't automatically get added to 8.

8 uses a separate database, so if you add files to 7 then only the 7 database gets updated. 7 doesn't know about 8.

8 knows about 7 but only when you first install it (when it reads the 7 database).
 
I figured since there is only one database file (documents/virtual dj/database) it automatically would migrate into 8.
So for now if I use 7 and want to try 8 I will just have to do the batch ad to DB.

You should have 2 database files.
V6 one is for V7 and before.
database.xml is for V8.
 
Nope it is not there.
I am going to do a new install and see if that works.

When using VDJ 8, go to your Music Drive (Main Folder) and Recurse the Database.
Then using a Filter Folder select all newly added files (isscanned=0).
