Topic: Virtual DJ crashing with xponent

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi guys I've just got my hands on an m-audio xponent, it works fine with virtual dj - all the buttons, jog, faders etc are perfect.

The only problem is when i come to exit VDJ (7 or 8) it crashes, closes.... but remains in my processes sucking up memory.

I've tried shutting VDJ with the xponent connected, disconnecting the xponent first and powering down the xponent aswell as changing the output configuration to simple before closing but it still crashes.

Anybody have any ideas?

PS - Running windows 7 64bit

Hey! I just got one of these pupies also...the trick is to hit any button after hitting the "X" on VDJ and it will close.as for the background proccesses,I believe that it shuts down eventually...but you can check with windows task mngr...its the Asio drivers, they work but...windows 7 64 bit is finickey imao..

m-audio xponent

If you have VDJ v7 or up it will not work (ONLY ON XP)

runs on VDJ V5-V7 ON XP
runs on VDJ V5 ON XP/Vista/7 not sure about 8

no..I've been using it with vdj 7.now I'm trying with vdj8.talking with phantomdeejay at other thread.hes got a method to start fresh with the mapping..but..yeah sounds like drivers having issues.popping on the sound.but poping also happens when the mapping for scratchin for 4 decks has not been inplemented.what I dont get is...what code/verbs do we use now? the wiki are got changed/closed?...whew!

This is a known issue, I had the same problem. Its a problem with Xponent's drivers, I got annoyed and sold it. Great controller besides that annoying issue.

yeah..I know all that..well its working for me now!!!...it wants to run on 48khz but you change it to 44khz,cause is what vdj respond to...then after you shut down vdj, unplug and replug the usb..the pops are gone, also because I'm getting the mapping closer to being proper...believe me..I almost send it into "Orbit" this mourning before I had my coffee :s

hello, this was all working until I made the mistake of trying ACW's v.3 mapper which adds a midi rewrite definition file that is sent to the device definition folder (sent there by a vdj installer as oppsed to just packing a mapping xml in a zip pack.) after various moments of not being able to shut down vdj8 and having to force shutdowns and further investigation I find that deleting the definition file before opening vdj will allow for one to close vdj later (by hitting any button after hitting the "X" button on the upper right corner of the screen.this of course is not the proper deal.I have messaged ACW abot this,to rewrite what he changed as t is too deep into the xponent midi implementation.I am waiting response.as i found out last nite,as long as I delete that definition DAT file (yes,I had removed the midi def file as well as the ACW map,my map worked fine..with the help of DjDad's swap code and remaping the cues for Hot cues ) that I am able to restart vdj8 with either one or two xponents and the Evolution controller (that goes via usb but it could be via midi into the xponent.I think the program switch ACW used to select decks 3 & 4 can be used for a better purpose, such as selecting between Automatic left, right config & Automatic 1,2,3,4. which I find is related to the lockup problem.when I delete the device def DAT the system opens in a "Automatic left, right" under configurations/controllers option and all is well after.but when I leave that definition DAT file and bootup vdj...it opens in Automatic 1,2,3,4. config though I might just want to use one xponent in swap mode.now this causes the lockup....again...waiting for a response to this...its a mess.

Ive managed to rewrite the sysex hack from ACW mapping and disconnected the device def from using program "B" for decks 3&4.its all 4 decks are on program "A" as default,at this is a warning and a lesson concerning the xponent mapping from ACW for vdj8.do not install this.it maps decks 3&4 permanetly to a separate program written or burned into the xponent and not easily undoable.the top of the unique (and troublesome) device definition xml file which I had moved from the device folder to be able to use in the standard left/right logic with 4 deck swap code,I figured the device xml (not the map xml) had to go back to the device folder but had to be rewritten so I took a look at the code and I deleted all sysex commands at the top pf the script and replaced with the verb "default".then remapped the cues to hot cues and the boost button to be a deck swap button.and it worked! its now back to its original mapping...is now working with vdj7 as well as vdj8 though you have to delete the definition dat file in the device folder made in the previous session (the last time you opened vdj8) before booting up vdj8 or vdj8 will lockup.in order to use the xponent in the normal left/right logic with the simple deck swap code which will allow you to use one or two xponents (second should be midi'd to the first xponent via midi cords).Agasin I recommend NOT installing the ACW mapper as it rewrites sysex codes in the unit and then it can not be used in different configurations..

All working Lol.if your switching mappers for whatever reason make sure there is a second map called midi audio in.it is made when you reset the hesdphones to channel 1&2 (same as the master outs) and make sure to allow updates if like me you ended up doing a fresh install of vdj8 and it was a previous beta...
