Great Sound Lots of features. However, due to its name it never really took off.
 
But it's missing that one all important feature, doesn't pass midi and audio at the same time. I think if it could do that it would of been rated regardless of the name, in my opinion anyways, lol!!

Not sure what you mean by pass midi and audio, but it is MIDI capable. I had it MIDI mapped to VDJ and SSL. If you are meaning having an internal soundcard, I personally think it would not have made a difference. As soon people heard it was Behringer it was automatically discounted even though there were tons of reviews saying the contrary.

Meh, I had one and was used for all my club gigs for well over 2yrs. Never failed me, and I was booked every weekend with my residency and whatever guest spot I picked up.

stanton scs 1 system... under rated by far.. only thing really close are the denons the other guys mentioned.

denons have the edge due to being usb n not firewire.

Didn't you have to hack the crossfader so it could be mapped?? I suppose if you only used the up faders then it won't matter.

No, I was able to map the crossfader to Scratch Live and VDJ.

 
I honestly think that the Gemini CDJ700 are very underrated by many. I own a pair, and I love those units. I think many people believe that because it's a Gemini unit, it's not going to last, or it's not going to work, but I can honestly tell you guys that CDJ700 give the competition a run for their money.

I believe what Huey is referring to is that silly limitation that a DDM4000 crossfader can only be used for audio OR MIDI, but not both at the same time without hardware modification.

I agree with DJ Ho,

The Gemini CDJ-700's are a solid piece of kit. I had the choice to get either a Pioneer 350 set up which was 2 x 350's a DJM 350 and a flight case for £1250 or, for the same price, 2 x Gemini CDJ 700's, a 4 channel mixer (Vestax PCM 280), 2 x Pioneer DJ50X Monitors and a flight case.

Bear in mind the CDJ 700 has a lot of the features of the Pioneer CDJ 900's like slip mode etc and to be honest, I think the jog wheels feel better - less plasticy and sturdier than the Pioneers, even the 2000's. I read reviews saying they wernt good for scratching but, I've no problems at all - not that I'm an expert scratcher and dont do much in my sets!

They do MIDI & HID, SD & USB as well as CD of course. They're set out like Pioneers so it would be easy to use them at home and then go onto Pioneers in a venue or club.

Only thing missing really is the usb link when using without a pc which would mean you'd only need 1 flash stick but that only takes 2 minutes to copy I suppose.

For £300 each new you cant go wrong and once set up properly with a good PC work a treat with VDJ.

I went for the Gemini as I've had their gear in the past, a set of PT2000's as back up to my 1210's and the difference wasn't too noticeable with the Technics being just a little bit more solid.

A mate of mine who plays out all the time a lot more than me said he was surprised how solid and precise they were for a Gemini - which shows theres a stigma out there still. Shame as its a good deck.
 
Even my dog DJ Betty thinks they're cool!
