Maybe this is a tough question to answer, maybe not.
I got my Pioneer DDJ-Ergo V hooked up to my pc with a simple ASIO driver (USB cord from controller to pc is around 5 meters.)
So here is the problem,
The headphone knob is set to the exact half which is cue/master channel.
The volume knob is turned all the way, so my headphones should be blasting decibels on my ears.
But it isn't. The volume seems to be like half the loudness i am used to have.
Sometimes the volume is at its correct level and i am forced to tune it down a bit to preserve my ears.
But after 5-10 minutes of dj'ing the volume suddenly drops half its loudness and it stays there.
What am i doing wrong, or what detail am i forgetting here?

A data cabler's perspective
5 metres is the maximum permitted length for USB without some form of repeater, if you can try a shorter usb lead and see what happens. I can't say much about your hardware or ASIO driver.
