Hmmm....

I think you have three options:

1] Don't do it, because you don't have suitable kit yet.

2] Offer to do it but make him fully aware of what he's going to get. He may be expecting more.

3] Do it and charge enough to cover hire of some better kit & lights.

Things to consider :
1. What type of party
2. What time and how long
3. How far is it. Do you need to pay TOLL to get there and Parking FEE)
4. Does the Venue need proof of Insurance
5. Is this going to be a Monthly Gig
etc...

I really think that $100.00 is to CHEAP (even for starters, unless it's less than 2 hours, close by, use Ipod etc..).
Don't cut yourself short cause next time, they are expecting to pay you same amount.

IMO, I think a good starting base would be $250.00 for:
1. Up to 4 hours
2. Close by (no TOLLS, No Parking Fee)
3. Basic System
4.Montly Gig
etc...

As far the LIGHT question, I'm assuming it's not a BAR/CLUB/etc...

I personally have done with NO LIGHTS due to time and Venue (I did bring lights but stayed in the Van).
The Time was Afternoon, and Venue had lots of Windows and Sun was Bright. Using lights would have been USELESS.

All this of course is all up to you if you want to put MORE or LESS (Equiptment, Time, Place etc..)
It's always good to GIVE more than the customer expect.

Anyway, this is how I look at it.

Good Luck
