Topic: Modded Coffins/Flight Cases........

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

So in another thread we talked about full sized flight cases and why we love them, well a few fellas talked about how they have modded there's for sound and other attachments.

I would like anyone who has modded there cases to post pictures and parts numbers and names here as I think I want to do the same to my case.

Thanks for the time and info....

There are four pics here.

The first (titled "powercon in") shows the Powercon connection on the outside of the case.

The second ("insulated") shows the single cable coming from the connections inside. There's normally a grey padding block velcro'd to the case side above this area, which stops the player from slipping back and impacting the connector.

The third ("hidden block") shows where the power cables for the three internal devices (2x players + mixer) meet, wired to a terminal block/strip inside the cable access tunnel between left and central bays. I've pulled the mixer forward in this pic for clarity. Normally it sits further back.

The fourth ("cables wrapped") shows how the original cable from the players has not been cut/shortened, just tidied with a wrap. The mixer has an IEC "kettle lead" connection, so the cable from that is shortened as it's not a permanent fix to the mixer.

Thanks Groovin. Here's a website that djlunatico pmed me, http://m.markertek.com/product/search/powercon
They seem to have a lot of connections wed need to mod a flight case.

Scott I'd like to see some pictures of your rig as well or anyone else who's modded there cases...........

Personally I like to minimise the breaks in the chain, if I were after neatness I would probably have a removable panel made or a drop down panel for the cables to run out of.

What a coincidence this topi just came up.
I just purchased a coffin case to go to my new to me DJM600 and CDJ1000\'s. I also purchased an Odyssey LstandM to use with the case.

The first thing I didn\'t like was all the power cables coming out of it. I had a few of the same power cables used on the CDJ\'s and my laptop, so I soldered them together to make an octopus of sorts. I still need to put a female receptacle on it for the DJM. The reason I did not splice the DJM in, or use the original cables, is to have a backup if there is a failure. Like someone pinching the cable end.

Less things to plug in and less cable in the coffin.

I am leery about using that connector only because if something happens to it in transport (even though it\'s recessed) or what ever, I would want another option. Havering the original cables would give me that option I guess. Or a female plug on the inside. Next will be some XLR jacks with short leads to the mixer.

I have a CDJ 400 that sits in a CDJ1000 case next to my coffin. This holds a USB3 hub, audio interfaces, etc. the power snake has a lead that hops over the side and feeds that stuff.

The LstandM shelf holds my wireless mic receiver.

The picture shows a layout of some of the stuff as I was starting the project. Let me know if I can provide more information. This was just a feasibility test, more improvements to come.
