Do a Google search for V-Moda. Best cans I've ever used....

Yes, I was helping Karl promote V-Moda at BPM last year. The M-100 model is award winning and has a 50mm dual diaphragm driver.

I bought a V-Moda. It cost me about $315. One ear stopped working before 6 months and they are uncomfortable on your ear or around your neck. They do sound good but I would not recommend them at all. A DJ needs a durable headphone that is also comfortable. For the price of the V-Moda, they should have done a better job.

I believe I can answer that question about buying beats...

read the tech specs before you buy.

If you purchased from V-Moda directly, they have a lifetime warranty. You should contact them. I've been very pleased with my customer assistance needs from V-Moda.....

Pioneer HDJ-2000. Had them for ages. Comfortable, sound great and are indestructible.

The Pioneer HDJ 2000s are a Good buy. DJ headphones are more durable and made to bend over the ear (Industrial Use). Personal use headphones are more fragile (Not for DJ, Listening to music at home, connect to your ipad, etc ) Dj headphones, The cables are thicker and durable and personal use, The cables are more fragile.

Yes I purchased from V-moda directly. I called them with the issue and they said my headphone was in warranty and I would have to send it back. They was supposed to send me a sticker so I can send it back but they never did. I just wrote it off as a loss and I will certainly never buy another headphone from that brand, they sounded good and looked good but were way too uncomfortable and definitely not durable. I am using the hd25, which was my backup.

LOL!

In my opinion, Beats headphones are for people who want the world to know that they spent a lot of money but aren't really concerned about sound quality. I've heard them and was highly disappointed considering their price.

My favorite is by far the Sony MDRV6 (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRV6-Monitor-Headphones-Voice/dp/B00001WRSJ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1391901579&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+mdrv6). The best $85 I've spent. Frequency response of 5hz to 30khz and good noise blocking. There's a reason why these have been a favorite of studios for decades.

we still use these sony's and have taken good care of them so haven't really had the breakage issue that plagued them. was really unhappy to learn they were discontinued but you can still find them online from various sellers for reasonable (and some not so reasonable) prices.

Sony MDR-V700DJ DJ-Style Monitor Series Headphones (Old Version)

ahhhhhh shirley you can't be serious ......they're discontinued ?????

they're good , not incredible , i give ' em an A-

the only other cans i really like are AKG's n they aren't dj phones they're studio

I actually own these headphones and love them. I also own the Studio Pro by Beats and they feel and sound good. I get the argument on the price vs. the quality of the sound and I can say that the sound really isn't as bad as people are saying.

i may not be a pro dj (yet that is, i'm working on that) but i am a huge audiophile and i know my stuff about headphones and speakers. by far the best headphones you can get that will not burn a hole in your pocket is a pair of the audio-technica ATH- M50X headphones. they really are one most excellent pair of cans. they have a really good value for sound quality, with really crisp highs and amazing bass response, while not leaving any mid gap. they are DJ style of course, and quite durable a that. You could be rough on them and not have to worry unlike a lot of other headphones out there. You can wear them for a long time without getting a sore ear, which is good for long gigs. And the thing is they cost a sweet sounding $160 bucks. they are really quite amazing. read the reviews on amazon and read the 3,000 people that agree with me on this. these things will beat all beats out there on the market by far, and you could spend way more on another pair and still not get this quality.
thanks for reading!

i got so ahead of myself by posting this that i forgot to give out some links, here they are:

this is the ATH-M50X, it is mostly the same as the M50s but it has other colors and has a little bit better quality, but the same build. i would go with it.i personally like the brown and black one

this is the ATH-M50, and it is bought a lot more and it is the one with thousands of reviews. either one will amaze you.

When it comes to headphones, Its good to get a pair of DJ head phones that are durable. All these headphones like Beats by Dre, Jbls, Marleys etc are for personal listening, They are Not for Dj use because they will break after a short while from bending. The Beats Pro are OK but, I wouldn't recommend those. I had a pair of Sony MDR V700 headphones and they sounded good but, they are more fragile compared to other Dj headphones. I Currently have the Reloop RHP10 in white. They look nice and they are very durable. They are made of some type of very flexible plastic that can bend without cracking. The sound quality is Ok but, can be better. My next pair will be the HDJ 2000s.

Sony MDR-7506. I've had them for 3 years and they're still running like champs. Durable, sound is AMAZING out of these puppies. That said, the bas is not very heavy in them so if you're looking for something bass centric then they aren't for you. But I I use them for music production too and they're great.

Beats actually aren't bad for LISTENING to music as far as quality. I wouldn't use them(except the $500 pair) for production of any sort. That said, they're ALL over priced. You're paying for a name. And if I'm just LISTENING to music, I don't need a $2/250 pair of headphones.

General rule...once you pass the $200 mark on headphones, you're not getting better audio quality as much as you are build quality. Metal pieces instead of plastic. Real leather instead of the fake plastic stuff. Screws instead of plastic clips, etc.

Well I've tried the Beats Mixr, and I have to say that they aren't that bad.

I use the Sennheiser HD-25 II's.
I think Afrojack uses them as well...

This guy does a review of many headphones. His review of the Sennheisers convinced me to get them.

And on the plus side, Sennheiser has replacement parts for them.
