Topic: VDJ Music Plan

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I assume this has been covered somewhere but I'm gonna ask anyways......

Anyone use the VDJ Music plan?
Is it worth it?
If I got it and decided to cancel it say for example a few months later do i get to keep the music I downloaded?

If its not worth it does anyone have a suggestion for a good music download site for a reasonable cost?

Thanks in advance,
Howard

Lots of people use it...

IME it seems to be mainly no license users and LE users, using it for "all you can eat" purposes rather than buying their own music.

No, you don't get to keep the music if you cancel. It's rented music, like if you borrowed a library book. It's never yours to keep.

I personally think that relying on streaming at gigs is not a good choice for any DJ. Also, if you're a working DJ then you should already have sufficient music in your own collection to play, and to meet most requests without needing to download.

IMO you should be playing music you own, if you're a working DJ earning money from it.

If you're at a gig and someone requests a track you don't have, you have a choice. You can just tell them you don't have it, or you can download it from any number of online retailers - at which point you've got that track permanently, without needing a subscription.

All IMHO of course.

I have been using ERG for my music I was paying $24.95 a month and I liked it for awhile but it didn't seem like it was updating enough however I get to keep everything I download

I have searched and searched to find something that updates more often but I have yet to find one for decent price

I might end going back to them

uuuuuhhhhhh i agree with most of what groovin said .....

you should own it for instance i agree with

streaming is dumb stupid n ignorant ....download it first it takes 5 whole seconds! r u kidding me ??????

however that it's mostly nlu's and le's i think is probably not correct

i use it but i am willing and able to pay for lots of nice things for my business

i think the djs?? if that's what they are that steal music don't use it because it must be paid for and i

believe that any business person that is that shortsighted and cheap at a minimum doesn't seem to be shrewd and

might even be a lousy dj

as for experienced people should already have purchased every conceivable track that they need ..... well , i personally

only have 27000 trax not 27 billion so yes i get the occasional request that i don't have ......

thanks to the content unlimited i can download them quickly on the fly , not even leave the software to use another

program AND when i search.....to the customer looking over

your shoulder it looks like you have it ! .......it costs a measly 10$ for a lot of convenience and it makes you almost

failsafe against requests , what's not to like??

yes use other services also

i use plain old Amazon a lot

for new businesses, new dj's starting out it could be a legitimate way to acquire a leased music library for cheap until they

could buy the trax

I'm probably just back to using ERG it's $24.95 a month for unlimited downloads of all different genre with clean and dirty versions and I get to own the music

The only thing I don't like is that is you cancel your membership with them and go back you have to pay for any months you missed which I think is BS

So I was looking for a different solution that maybe cost a little less and I could the keep the track.

I'm definitely not interested in paying for a service and I don't get to keep the track

I use it as well so that hopefully I am the guy that can even get those rare songs that nobody has. But I own a ton of music that I paid for and buy anything I intend to play again.

Personally, I am not sure why NLUs are allowed to use net search. Just my $.02

It's funny because I just used it to find "Malo Teby" by Serebro. It's a Russian track. It has a beat, it mixed in very well and I got paid. I belong to a long list of audio and video subscription services. I currently have 6 TB of internal storage and 2TB of external storage. I never have enough music. I use Content Unlimited for the tracks that have a shelf life measured in hours, literally. I have four to five of these services open behind VDJ. If I think that the track has a decent shelf life, I buy it, if not I rent it. I have all the latest videos, but these sites update regularly. This service is very useful to me.

Actually you dont technically get to keep anything..

all the big legal DJ only music providers (ERG, promo-only, etc etc) state that the music is leased, not purchased, for promotional use only, etc etc

technically, when you stop buying from they, they have they right to ask for the music back, or demand that you delete them..

just sayin.. :-)
the have actually never done this to anyone (that I know of) but they do have the legal right..

What about Direct Music Service?

Anyone use them?

They have alot good stuff on there such as samples, effects and remixes as well as all the regular versions of songs i.e. Top 40 etc

It's about $5 more than ERG and after checking out thier website I may not go back to ERG and just go with them

Thoughts?

I think it makes sense to pay 10 bucks a month if you are at least getting 1 gig a month. It's a no brainer. I don't have the program because I need to rely on an internet connection and sometimes I might play at a very remote place with no wifi in range. But if you run into that problem there is also the option of getting an internet card but that will soon get expensive.

I use Ares to download some songs and I have bought from itunes on the spot before because of me not having a certain song. I also go to blogs to keep up with newer music.
