Topic: Problems with website

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Since yesterday morning I have some difficulties browsing the website.
Every time I click on an existing thread to open and read it, my browser starts hanging and after a while
a message pops up saying \"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete\"

I hope you know what I mean as I can not post it word by word, just try to translate it from german.

I think its either the twitter or facebook plugin, because this URLs were shown in the statusbar of the browser when it starts hanging.

That ONLY happens if I click on an existing thread. If I want to create a new one, or change to another forum everything is fine.
Maybe it\'s my browser because at home with Opera that doesn\'t happen.

Currently I\'m using IE v8.0.7601 x64. Unfortunately I\'m not allowed (and not able) to use something else -_-

If it is really a twitter/ fb problem I know you can do little to fix this, but who knows.
It\'s really frustrating to browse this way...

Oh an btw, have you considered to install this on the website?

With that little script one can turn off or on this plugins.

Here is a description how it works. I know it is in german, but the code should be readable and comprehensable by the devs.

get rid of (ie) use google chrome

I'm using chrome 27 and it's been doing the same thing

Yeah, the damn "social media" icons at the top of the site can really make things drag sometimes.

It's often so bad that I just give up and leave. The site should encourage people to stay, not drive them away!

Instead of having them reload with every page, why not put them in their own little separate table that doesn't reload?

Either that or just leave them under the community/social web area - not above every page where they slow the whole site down.

PLEEEEZ!

they need to load from 3rd party sites.. thats the whole concept of "social" .. its connected elsewhere ;)

But, I will change so that it doesnt slow down site if Facebook is slow at rare times, or other issues :)
Will make them lazy load after page load is done

Thank you!

It's working again! Thank you so much!

It was really a pain to wait ~20 seconds each time you clicked on a thread.
