Topic: Jogwheel loses function in the mid of a gig!

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

The other night I was playing at a party with over 50 people dancing before me when suddenly the jogwheels on my Hercules controller changed function: instead of scrolling through the selected track, they scrolled through my browser window. I had no luck unplugging the controller or reloading the mapper or manualy configure the wheel in the settings panel. In my hopes not having to plug in my phone for playing the next track, I ended up programming a button to map the standard action to the jog wheels. It worked! But I've never worked up a sweat like that during a gig. Anyone ever experienced this or something similar?

Scrolling through the manual I found the next part (It's in Dutch, but you would understand):

U kunt ook door muzieklijsten bladeren met behulp van de jogwielen.
Als een map een grote hoeveelheid muziekbestanden bevat, houdt u de Up- of Downknop op de console ingedrukt en
draait u aan het jogwiel om snel door de lijst te bladeren.

Or in English:
You can also use the jog wheels to browse through music lists. When browsing through a directory containing lots of music files,
simply turn the jog wheel while keeping the Up- or Downbutton on your console pressed down in order to move through the list more quickly.

Could it be that your up- or downbutton got stuck or sticky?

The UP and DOWN buttons of the Steel are mapped to switch the JogWheels to Browser Scroll mode, as long as they are pressed. So most likely, one of them remained pressed and the jog continued to be on wheel mode.
You can change the action of those UP and DOWN buttons by removing the wheel_mode 'browser' while_pressed part in order not to happen again, or contact with Hercules to fix your possible hardware issue.
