I'm an old school dj who wants to try mixing, can anyone suggest a beginner friendly skin? thanks for your help

The skin doesn't really affect the ability to mix. It's mainly just for appearance.

Sometimes they have slightly different features, but the core functions are the same from skin to skin.
 
I don't think 'old school' really mean's much. All skin creators put some unique functions into their skins. Don't let the skins intimidate you with all the buttons and knobs, just try them out and surely you will find one with some feature you might find useful.
