I'm a long year Traktor user but recently i'm also working with VDJ and i think the program has the upper hand on the look, layout and navigation. There's only one problem i cannot manage to solve.
When the track is synced in Traktor even when i start it not to the milisec accurate to the beat i want to mix, it jumps automatically to the "nearest or even the most logical beat" and the track is constantly in sync as long as it is beatgrided. That makes instant cut ins and accapella mixing a breeze.
In VDJ no matter what setting for the sync button i use, it won't jump to the beat, as it plays exactly where in the track i pressed so iz needs manual pitch bending. That by otself is not a problem at all, but i would really love the functionality of Traktor in that particular area.
If any of u has the solution to this, or it's just the way that VDJ was made, please reply!

I think you need a Beatlock button, or maybe a Smartstart button. That will do the job..

smartstart is actually called 'smart_play' you can map it to a button, or click the lock near the play button on the default skin.
The last option to do what you want is to change the mapping for the play button to 'play_sync_onbeat' but beatlock is the best methodif you set your beatgrids properly
