Hey guys, was mentioned the other day that I don't show as many of my videos/templates on the forums as I once did. Well, I didn't want to clutter these forums up so moved everything over to a dedicated web site specifically for all VDJ users where they can download any file they see or request a custom copy, or leave their own vidoes or finds on the site.
Only stipulation is that all content whether video or images must be either your own work or freeware with a link back to the original site.
Here's the latest of a few new templates I've been working on... inspired by a certain sports network in the UK.
This came about as I was losing a lot of bar advertising time to music videos been fed to screens and less use of clipbank and audio files.

This came about as I was losing a lot of bar advertising time to music videos been fed to screens and less use of clipbank and audio files.
All of the cube faces will accept and show either images or videos.
The scrolling text I replace with Scotts scrolltext with new messages throughout the night, the remaining background in that area shows vertically scrolling sms messages throughout the night.
Bottom left of scroll bar can be used for anything really, static or moving message, logo, moving or not, top right corner once again can either be text, video or image, and the whole of the video window you can add a logo either static or moving.
Other variations on this theme include only one large oblong cube, another is one cube with a video wall beneath it showing bar adverts or upcoming promotions.
As usual I'll be putting this up for custom requests by any VDJ user at http://visualshed.forumotion.co.uk/ within the next few days.
There is no charge made if you want me to make you one of these, just give the images or video files you want adding and any text. If you don't have any I'll try and come up with something for you.
I'm currently making some for a couple of other users so it's on a first come first served basis.
Hope this gives you some ideas for your own shows.

So does this only work with Firetext? Placing images on the squares that is.

Cheers for the like, the template is an outside source that I made, so can be used in Firetext through the movie tab, as for Pangolin I haven't been able to try as I don't have a copy unfortunately, shouldn't see why not though.
I can give you a copy video with transparency if you want to test it out, I could then make any adjustments if needed, then it would be set up for any of the guys that wanted a version made.

So you add the text or video to the squares through FT or can that not be edited on fly?

Nah, everything needs to be pre made, images, videos etc, then placed into the cube face of your choice, render it with transparency for where you want the video window.
Would be great to be able to do that, but I have file sizes while setting this up of over 11gb before rendering, just don't think it's possible although highly desirable for users. God, my imagination would run crazy if it was.
Actually, I think we should ask Scott to put it on his to do list... lol. He's bound to be able to sort it.
Edit, haven't got time just now to look at it but feeding through another software may get the results you were asking for.
