ok since these slow rappers are making songs that bpms are ballad slow. is there a way i can map a key on my laptop that will /2 the bpm when virtual dj sees it at doulbe time ex. a track that 72bpm is being analyzed at 144bpm. Even a way to make virtual dj analyze at 4 beat measure only. but that keyboard short cut would help so much.

Go to Config -> Options -> Allow BPM<80 -> set to smart.
That way VDJ should display the correct bpm values.

But doesn't - that's the problem. Smart mode isn't very smart!
It would be nice if it could be taught the difference (like speech recognition software) by feeding it songs.

Better way to do it..... this way it will stay permanently fixed in your folder.
1. go to the config, then go to mapping, select keyboard from the drop down menu.
2. click the key learn button and select the ~ button on your laptop or desktop keyboard
3. in the code bar underneath the word action, paste this code:
deck 1 load & deck 1 set_bpm 50% & deck 1 unload & browser_scroll +1
4. click the ok button to save the change.
5. go to you folder that contains all you hip hop records that read in double time ex: 65 bpm reading as 130bpm
6. go to the track where all your double time records start and highlight the first record.
7. after that just start hitting the ~ button and watch your files transform.
:note you cannot do this when a track is playing in A.
note 2: if you use a controller like a hercules steel that has extra buttons you can also set one or 2 of the buttons to do this
conclusion: if you do this you can fix all your double timed bpm records within 10-20 minutes! then they will all ready as they are supposed to when loaded!
