Windows or Mac? Couldn't make out from watching the video on my phone.

Also, what does the mapping software cost?

Cheers,

Roy

Yeah I said VPT (VIDEO PROJECTION TOOLS)......... but if you have Resolume you can also map with that as well. In the video I also stated I'm using a MacBook pro. I use VPT because it can use 2 Syphon sources and depending on the composition size in Resolume I can have 3 different sources coming from Resolume into VPT. All on one machine and barely hitting 30% CPU........ Resolume Arena is quite expensive but the video effects alone are worth it.......

Boy, look like every time
I come around here
I find something NEW...

Video is very cool.
There are halls around here
where this could come very handy
and this will look very cool at the same time.

Keep these ideas come people...

:)

Looks Nice...I defiantly would love to do something like that...it actually makes it easier to set up and project then setting up a big screen...IMO

Pretty sweet man! I would buy Resolume today IF there was a plugin like Syphon for PC.

So unless I missed something, am I understanding it correctly that there is currently no way to send the VDJ Video output to external Video mapping software?

You would probably have to use 2 laptops, 1 sending VDJ and the other catching it. I've never looked into it with any kind of depth but I'm sure it could be done. The thought of having to use 2 machines kinda pushed me away from looking into it.

Thanks, yea, already have a second PC for my lights... Lol, need 3! Hope a plug in for us is on the map, that would be awesome. But at least you Mac guys got something first! I feel bad for all the things that never get ported over to Mac.

Lol!! Trust me I haven't been to happy with that, lol! I really hope that's sorted out when VDJ 8.

I am thankful for all the awesome stuff I do have! I would just love to be the first guy here doing projection mapping. As for 8, not sure that will make a difference. But I see SBDJ is working his butt off lately, I am sure if anyone can help the Mac guys out, it will probably be him...

Atomix, make sure to take care of him, he is an irreplaceable asset! It would be awesome if we could get a few clones, is that on the wish list?! :)

Guys, you have been able to do that directly through Firetext for a few years now with TextMachine3D, no doubt others will follow, but in the meantime it only costs about 99euro to buy TM3D directly.

Projection mapping is totally cool, we actually started integrating this back in early 2010 and it brings another level to your shows, check original post on the Firetext thread if you need more info...

Really? I will have to check that out then. Not sure why I have not heard of that... Thanks for the info!

Scratch that, I have seen this. Just didn't know it interfaces with VDJ. Tayla, is it pretty straight forward? Do i need a VDJ plug in? Just didn't see that info in my quick read... I will have a better look at it this weekend.

Thanks again for the info!

I freakin love this!

VPT (not VTP!) is free, and works with Windows and Mac.

Could you run both VDJ and VPT off the same computer...?

If so I want to play with it and see if I can incorporated in my show in the future.

Yes you can.

Awesomeness huey..... thinking of getting a a projector now.... would that work with the samsung projector fone?

You ideally want a short throw and at least 2500 or better lumens. Try looking for a Benq short throw. Projectors can get expensive quick but you gotta pay to play, lol!!
