Topic: VDJ freezes with DDJ WEGO

My VDJ Pro freezes after an hour or so of use with DDJ WEGO. I have the latest firmware and driver as specified on the Pioneer website. There are a number of posts on Pioneer support forum with same problem and there is no reply from Pioneer expert. I posted my problem on Pioneer Hardware section of our (VDJ) forum however it looks like Pioneer rep is not regularly answering user's posts. I would appreciate if somebody can help me solving the problem.
I have a very good laptop on which I have used VDJ Pro with Hercules RMX without any problem (Audio and Video)

So, it's not your laptop or your software, but your controller. Call Pioneer. Forget the forum.
 
Similar thing happened when the MC-6000 first came out and Denon fixed it with a firmware upgrade. Was related to the jog dial midi transmission.

Does the Wego freeze when doing anything particular or is it just random?

I bought the WeGo and returned it the next day because it froze and crashed left right and center.
 
The program freezes randomly and I would have returned the controller but I bought it in USA and brought it to India so I need a fix on whatever piece of junk I am stuck with. I would really appreciate if somebody can help me.
 
Weird. I used my Wego at a club last Saturday for 5 hours...no issues playing both audio and video. I am running Vdj 7.2.
 
Could you yell us how you have your controller connected to your laptop? Also what version of Vdj are you running?

Like I said above, I am on 7.2.

I have my Wego plugged into a powered (AC electrical) usb hub then the hub into a port on my 6 year old laptop (win xp).

My controller is connected to USB port on the laptop. My laptop is Sony VAIO i5 6 GB RAM Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit op system.
I will try using powered hub and come back with results.
I am on VDJ 7.3. Does anybody think I should also go back to 7.2 (If yes - how do I get 7.2?)

as stated in answer to Q 3, this unit is not supposed to function if connected to USB hub and yet you have it working on a USB hub - very strange.

Yeah I know. I had an audio glitch when mixing videos when I had the unit plugged directly into my 6 year old Dell laptop. I started contemplating switching to Mac hoping that would solve the problem.

As part of my troubleshooting I took the wego to my club...same audio glitches when mixing videos on their desktop xp machine. An idea hit me to try plugging the unit into the powered hub where I also plug in my hard drive...no audio glitches!!!! I went to best buy to buy 2 powered hubs. Tested it on the laptop..no glitches!! I can't recall the unit freezing either.

As far as 7.2 you would need to put in a ticket to support. It is always a good idea to download every version when it is released to a folder on your computer that way you will have previous versions to easily go back to.
