Topic: Advice Choosing the Basic Pro.

Had a play with Free edition so i am definatly going to purchase. Just unsure which.. The Dj pro basic seems more for me. Only just recently got into mixing again and find it much more comfortable being able to do this using my rig rather than a controller.
My question i need to know if i Buy the VirtualDJ pro Basic will i have the option to use my headphones Via seting up and cue'n each track i mix..
as on the free edition it does not allow me accsess to use my headphones.
And also will i have acess to custermising my skin. Default one i find very tricky to fiddle around with.
Sorry im no pro at all this.. but hopefully with this i can only get better. Appreciate any help on this matter. Thanks.

Yes, you can headphone cue if your hardware supports it. You need to have a multiple output sound card or run in mono and use a splitter. I definitely recommend a sound card. A controller makes the software much easier to deal with, in my opinion, and a lot of them have sound cards.

I'm not a 100% on the pro basic but I'd just go VDJ PRO FULL, that way if you do decide to jump back in the game you don't need to purchase any other software plus the Full version is completely customoizably.......

FULL PRO, you won't regret it.
 
How do i check is my hardware suports that feature? Sorry not very technical on the pc.

My appologys i have vieed the link. Still im confused lol and i am using my rig aka Pc. much more powerful than my laptop. The only thing i can find on my stytem info about sound card it says: Sound Device: High Defenition Audio device.
Im on amazon now about to buy USB 5.1 Stereo Sound Card Adaptor - Windows 7 Compatible. Thinking maybe this will help me. I Require to be able to have Acsess to using headphones via my mixing as i mix Trance-non-stop. and im going to be doing 2hour sessions. so i ant to have the options of lisening to tracks before i decide where i want to start or cue my next tracks.
 
I run Pro Basic through a 5.1 surround card, and an external mixer. Lots of cables, granted, but if its a permanent setup you got (sounds like you will have, running a desktop), you're laughing. I only mix Hard House, and Pro Basic with all the additional wires is plenty sufficient for me.

If you're looking to scratch hip-hop or something, perhaps invest...

Chaps, thanks for the great advice. I am in a very similar position and will most likely buy the Pro basic. I wondered about the Broadcaster version being able to do the same thing. Mainly from a cost perspective.
How well has the 5.1 USB Sound card worked? Which doe you guys suggest?

The soundcard/external mixer method suited me fine... for a while. Then figured it was worth learning the ropes properly, upgraded to Pro FULL, bought a Mixtrack Pro, and haven't looked back. I've learned so much more from using a controller.

Oh, and free software updates for life? Who wouldn't upgrade?!
