I just updated my Second notebook with the files, database file and Virtual DJ folder from my First notebook. It seemed to go pretty well, except that the virtual files in my virtual folders don't play, they just come up with Error upon load. The original files from the computer directory play fine.
I could just put the notebooks side by side and manually reload the Virtual Folders, but there are quite a number of files so it would take me a while. I'm hoping there is another way.
When I say the Update went pretty well, I did have to copy the Mappers folder manually as my key shortcuts didn't come across at first. This could suggest that I have made a mistake with the Virtual DJ folder or possibly even the database file.
Any tips?

sounds like the original path is not the same.
If your old pc folder is DRIVE-LETTER:/ALL-MY-STUFF-HERE (MP3-MPG-AVi-etc..etc)
then in your new one should also be the same exact file structures.

There could be also some difference in the Username\Music path.
Either the username is different in your new computer or the OS is different and the MyDocuments structure is different (e.g. XP vs Win7)
1. You can edit the database xml file (located in MyDocuments\VirtualDJ folder) using Notepad or similar Text Editor by replacing "\OldUsername\" with "\NewUsername" or..
2. Use the Playlist Fixer Tool , that fixes VirtualFolders as well.. http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/13794/Playlist_Fixer.html
There is also a possibility that the VirtualDJ folder you copied from your old computer to carry properties from the your old username. Rightclick to that..Properties..Security tab and make sure you have full access/control to that.

Thanks for the replies.
I sorted it, silly mistake. While updating the second notebook I decided to change the Home folder address of both computers in the Registry Tool to my D Data Drives. I figured the problem had something to do with Database files & copied & pasted different files but it just wasn't working & I couldn't figure it. When I double checked the Registry Tool I found that my First laptop was still accessing Home folder in C/User. I'd obviously neglected to hit Apply. aaaahhhhh.
However, after rectifying that, (I left both notebooks Home folder as C\Users), I still had to copy the Mapping folder from another folder to the Second notebook's Home folder, so I'm not sure what happened there. Anyway, it's all good now, I think I'll delete all those Virtual DJ and database files to save confusion. There's no point in keeping them for backup purposes is there?
What is the difference between the two database folders, what information does each of them hold?
