Hi All
Relatively new to both digital djing, and indeed, virtual dj itself. I have a few issues with my recently purchased Hercules 4MX and the Virtual DJ mappings...
Currently my set up is this
Hercules 4MX
Virtual DJ 7 (trial at the moment) MAC version
2 x Gemini direct drive turntables plugged into the 4mx into inputs 1/2 and 3/4 (ground wires connected)
The output from the 4mx goes to my home cinema amp - no issues there.
The issues are as follows:
Turntables are very, very quiet. I have to have the gain on 100% and all of the audio knobs turned to full and still the sound isn't right. Anyone got an idea what I'm doing wrong?
Secondly, when I press the "source 1" or "source 2" button, it allocates linein1 to whichever deck I press. However, here in is the problem. I cant allocate linein2 to any of the decks!!!
Please can someone point me in the direction to:
A: correctly assign linein1 to deck A/C and linein2 to deck B/D
B: advise why the sound is so quiet from the decks? I could run it through a mixer first but this wouldnt enable me to properly mix 2 digital decks and 2 physical decks (which is what I want to do...)
Any help would be amazing as this is making me want to throw the whole lot out of the window!!!

it seems its only linein 1 which is affected by the quiet input. linein 2 is fine now (i figured out you can only assign to deck a/b not c/d)
pluggin the phono cables into input 2 gives me clear normal sound. input 1 gives me very quiet crackly sound...
Is the 4mx broken?

You might want to take a look at this document:

My guess is that the input level is different for Input 1-2 and 3-4.
